Acorn was set up in 2000 by Moira and Gordon Anderson and their children, Karen and Keir, to provide financial support to students. All four are Trustees of Acorn.
Our aim is to focus on those students with the greatest financial need, not necessarily those with the highest educational qualifications. As a Scottish-based Charity, we like to finance Scots seeking to undertake educational courses anywhere in the world, and students from anywhere looking to study in Scotland.
We will also consider support to educational institutions.
Presently, we typically make five awards a year, and we guarantee to fund each recipient with the agreed annual award for the length of the course they are taking.
